If you have never applied for a job like this before, but have the necessary experience that qualifies you for a place in DB Work's team of professionals in the Netherlands, you need to prepare your CV. We have prepared some information for you on what your CV should contain.

What should your CV contain?

First of all, preparing a CV does not need to give you a lot of headaches or worry you in any way. None of the DB Work recruiters will force you to follow a certain CV structure or template. It must contain:

  • Your personal information: full name, date of birth, place of birth, contact details.
  • Details of your professional background
  • English language level
  • Information about your driving licence
  • Documents proving your professional experience

What is important is that the information is complete but also accurate. When preparing your new CV, you need to be patient, take your time and make sure that the information that reaches recruiters is correct.

Your CV does not have to be written exclusively in English; you can also compose it in your native language. However, for positions that explicitly require English language skills, you can draft the CV in English.

Certificates and credentials

When working in the naval industry or in other fields where employers require specific licenses or certificates, it is necessary to mention in your CV what documents you hold:

VCA certificate - Probably the most important certificate you need in the Netherlands. Mandatory for jobs in shipbuilding, electrical, transport, heavy industry, construction, this document certifies knowledge of all the rules regarding safety and protection at work.

The CNCIR authorisation - Special for welders, contains several categories of certification depending on the field of activity or type of welding.

Reach-Truck or Forklift Truck Authorisation - Special for logistics jobs. Not mandatory, but definitely an advantage.
