Oosterschelde

Oosterschelde is the first national park we recommend you keep an eye on for one of your relaxing getaways in the southwest of the Netherlands. It was granted national park status in 2002 and is protected by UNESCO.

One of the main attractions of this estuary is its biodiversity, and those who come here can see many species of fish, birds, and many historic shipwrecks. 

The Dutch have taken great care to maintain and preserve these shipwrecks to offer visitors a unique landscape that is steeped in history. 

Hoge Veluwe National Park

The Netherlands has no mountainous terrain at all, but that doesn't mean it can't offer incredible nature experiences. A visit to Hoge Veluwe National Park will leave you with a smile on your face as you will witness a 5500-hectare park. The predominant natural elements in this park are beech forests, wild landscapes with rivers and lakes, and small wildlife that will accompany you throughout your visit. 

The Kroller-Muller Museum is also located inside the park, where works of art by Van Gogh are kept safe. Visiting hours are daily, so there's never a bad day to get here.

Veluwezoom National Park

This destination, located in the province of Gelderland, offers a viable alternative for those who want to raise the bar for extreme sports .In Veluwezoom National Park there are plenty of hiking and biking trails, but also plenty of places to capture life beyond the forests. The park is home to many species of wildlife, such as deer, pheasant, and wild boar. The park is open daily for anyone who wants to visit this little corner of nature.

National Park de Loonse en Drunense Duinen

We will end our list of recommendations with Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park, a unique combination of forests and sand dunes. The Dutch frequently come here for hiking or nature activities, but also to relax in a quiet way and photograph the unique landscape offered by the sand dunes.
